For the first time since 2019 and the first time as an SEC matchup, the Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies are set to do battle in men’s basketball on Saturday.

Both squads are 11-2 heading into the matchup, however, the Aggies are ranked No. 13 in the latest AP Top 25 poll while the Longhorns remain unranked. A win against the Aggies on the road will certainly help their case.

Texas holds an 80-59 record over the Aggies and historically has the Aggies’ number. The Longhorns have won six of the last seven meetings dating back to 2011. They’ll look to continue that trend in College Station on Saturday — but does Vegas agree?

Odds for Longhorns vs. Aggies

Entering Saturday’s SEC-opening matchup, Texas A&M (-275) has emerged as a 6.5-point favorite over Texas (+220) at home.

The over/under total is set at 140.5 points.

It’s no surprise that both teams are off to a hot start. The SEC boasts 15 Quad 1 teams of its 16 members with South Carolina being the lone exception. The Aggies are one of 11 teams ranked in the latest AP Top 25 poll and haven’t lost since Thanksgiving. They’re also 11-1 since losing the season opener.

For the Longhorns, their only losses are to Ohio State in the season opener — a team that Texas A&M beat by double digits less than two weeks later — and two-time defending national champions, the UConn Huskies.
