Starting in the 2025 season The CW will air all NASCAR Xfinity Series races, but they are getting an early start in 2024 now. The final eight races of the season will be broadcast on The CW instead of NBC.

While NBC won’t host the races, they will use their crew on The CW. The Xfinity Series will be in the midst of the Xfinity Series playoffs, and The CW Network will air all of those races.

This is going to allow the network to tease what they can do with the sport. 2025 is right around the corner, well almost. This news is major. Rick Allen, Jeff Burton, and Steve Letarte will be in the booth for these races.

“As The CW prepares to be the new broadcast home of the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025, we want to thank our partners at the league and at NBC Sports for welcoming the network into the NASCAR broadcast family and for the early opportunity to showcase these thrilling final eight Xfinity Series races of the season,” said Dennis Miller, President, The CW Network. “We can’t wait to give racing fans an early preview of all the exciting action the NASCAR Xfinity Series has to offer on The CW and we look forward to establishing the network as a new destination for live motorsports.”

The preview will be a good test run. Having the Xfinity Series on The CW means it is accessible to everyone. Well, everyone with a TV. The network will put the series in front of more eyeballs.

NASCAR excited to move to The CW

As for NASCAR themselves, this is exciting. When you have new TV partners, the transition can be difficult. However, this move will make it a little easier for fans and the sport itself. When NASCAR announced the new TV deal, this was an interesting part of the bigger picture.

“We have incredible media partners who collaborate at an exceptional level to showcase the excitement of live NASCAR racing,” said Brian Herbst, NASCAR Senior Vice President, Media and Productions. “We’re looking forward to having The CW get a head start as the home of the NASCAR Xfinity Series with the help of NBC Sports and continuing to deliver our fans thrilling on-track action.”

Also, shout out to NBC for doing this. While they are providing the booth, they didn’t need to do that. They easily could have just let The CW figure things out for themselves.

I think that moving to The CW is great. More potential eyes on a great racing product like the NASCAR Xfinity Series is perfect for the sport. Hopefully, it helps attract younger viewers as well.
