The Money Team Racing planning on Daytona 500 entry, other races in 2024
For another year, The Money Team Racing No. 50 car will try to qualify for the Daytona 500. The team is co-owned by boxing legend Floyd Mayweather. Last year, Conor Daly just got into the big race after a terrible qualifying effort. It wasn’t their only NASCAR effort in 2023.
Nothing has been finalized, according to a report from Forbes. However, TMT Racing is going to try and get a deal together. Daly was the driver for the No. 50 car last season. He just barely made the Daytona 500 and then later raced at COTA.
While The Money Team Racing hasn’t had great results in NASCAR, it is nice to see another entry in Daytona. This season, watching Austin Hill, Travis Pastrana, and Daly battle for their spots in the race was awesome. It felt like the old days of NASCAR again.
Becky and Willy Auchmoody are the two at the front of the day-to-day operations for TMT Racing. Last season a lack of sponsorship shortened their season from four races to just two. Now, the husband and wife duo are hoping to get into the Daytona 500 once again in 2024.
“We’re a mom-and-pop business at this point,” Becky said. “We don’t have a huge facility. We have a handful of employees. It’s very humbling because we’ve had so many people support us.
“To make the Daytona 500 not once, but twice, it’s really surreal.”
For 2024, The Money Team Racing won’t be the only open car, if they are able to enter the event. There will be some competition for those open spots in the Great American Race.
The Money Team Racing hopes to make third Daytona 500
If sponsorship comes together and qualifying goes well, The Money Team is hoping that they will be racing in 2024. The Daytona 500 is THE race. It’s the Super Bowl of NASCAR and it sets the season off for a long and grueling year of racing.

BJ McLeod and Live Fast Racing will be an open entry. David Ragan and the Stage 60 team from RFK will be entered. Anthony Alfredo is the driver for Beard Motorsports. Then, there is Jimmie Johnson who is likely to enter the race. Maybe 23XI Racing will find another driver to pilot the No. 67 car in 2024.
To be frank, TMT Racing has its work cut out for them. Yes, they’ve qualified for the race in the last two years. However, more interest in NASCAR has only led to more open cars. They better land a solid driver if they want to make the big dance.
Here’s a thing to pay attention to – The Money Team Racing wants to enter five to eight races this upcoming season. Then, they plan on making a full-time effort in 2025 with or without a charter.
That is going to take a lot of money, either way. Charters are selling for $40M+ and to race without one is basically burning cash. Then again, they are The Money Team – it shouldn’t be much of an issue.
