Earlier this week, it was revealed that Ryan Blaney‘s longtime spotter in Josh Williams wouldn’t be returning to the No. 12 in 2024.

Now, we’ve found out who will be guiding Blaney as he looks to repeat as a NASCAR Cup Series champion. Kevin Harvick‘s former spotter, Tim Fedewa, is moving over to Team Penske next season, and will be in Blaney’s ear.

“NASCAR Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney will have a new spotter in the stand in 2024,” a press release read. “Josh Williams, Blaney’s longtime spotter, announced Monday via X that he is departing the No. 12 Team Penske group ahead of the new campaign. Tim Fedewa will take over the headset for Blaney beginning next season, a Team Penske spokesperson confirmed Monday night.

“Williams has served as Blaney’s eyes in the spotters’ stand since 2015, when Blaney made 16 Cup starts for Wood Brothers Racing. In addition to this year’s Cup title, the Williams-Blaney duo collected 10 wins together as well as a $1 million payday in the exhibition 2022 NASCAR All-Star Race.”

While Blaney and Williams had immense success together, Fedewa certainly knows his way around NASCAR. He’s a great choice, but it remains to be seen how he and Blaney will work together.

Nevertheless, it seems like a fantastic pick for Ryan Blaney and the No. 12 team. We’ll see how fast the duo can gel.

Chase Elliott spotter Eddie D’Hondt leaving Hendrick Motorsports in 2024

Ryan Blaney may have his spotter now, but Chase Elliott is still in the market, as Eddie D’Hondt is exiting Hendrick Motorsports. D’Hondt has worked for several years with HMS in NASCAR. He worked alongside Jeff Gordon in his final years and has been with Elliott for numerous wins, too.

On Saturday night, D’Hondt posted a message thanking Rick Hendrick, Jeff Gordon, and Chase Elliott. Of course, Alan Gustafson as well.

“468 races together, 26 wins, [and] a [championship].”

For his work as a spotter, Eddie D’Hondt made himself quite a career. However, this doesn’t seem to be the end for him in the Cup Series. Expect to see D’Hondt pop up after this with another organization.

Chase Elliott did not have a great season this year. While a lot of that had nothing to do with more than his injury and inconsistencies, maybe there was something else going on. I do not think it is a bad idea for this team to get someone new in the spotter’s stand.

Gustafson is a great crew chief, Elliott is a great driver – D’Hondt has proven himself to be a great spotter. There is no reason to think this was due to a bad feeling or finger-pointing, but I do think it is good for this team to have a little bit of change.
