Time Magazine names Caitlin Clark as 2024 Athlete of the Year
Time Magazine named Caitlin Clark the 2024 Athlete of the Year, as revealed by the outlet’s cover announced on Tuesday.
Clark, who was named the WNBA Rookie of the Year, led the Indiana Fever to the playoffs in her first year after being selected No. 1 overall in the draft. Following a stellar career at Iowa, Clark was credited as the biggest reason why women’s basketball increased in popularity over the last few years.
A generational scorer, Clark’s talents were on full display during his first pro season and could only get better. You can see the cover below.
In the 2023-24 season, Clark compiled the most points (769), assists and 3-point field goals made ever by a rookie in WNBA history. Further, Clark’s 337 assists were the most ever in a single season by any WNBA player.
The Indiana Fever also have a former WNBA Rookie of the Year on their roster in Aliyah Boston. The former South Carolina star averaged 14 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game in 2024.

Expectations are sure to be high for the Indiana Fever in 2025 with Clark moving into Year 2 and Boston into Year 3.
With those expectations, Clark and Boston welcome in new head coach Stephanie White, who was announced as Christie Sides replacement back in November.
She led the Sun to back-to-back WNBA Semifinals appearances and had a record of 55-25 during that time.
“I am incredibly proud and honored to return home to Indiana and lead the Fever during such a pivotal moment in this franchise’s history, as well as during during such an important time throughout women’s athletics,” White said in a statement. “This franchise has and always will be committed to winning and I look forward to working every day to help deliver another WNBA title to the greatest basketball fans in the world.”
