Reggie Bush reportedly thwarted a home invasion at his LA mansion, according to TMZ Sports. It reportedly went down Monday night.

“We’re told the ex-USC Trojans running back was at the pad when the attempted break-in happened … and when he immediately yelled — the suspect(s) fled the area,” TMZ wrote. “Police showed up a short time later and discovered broken glass near the rear entry of the house. Thankfully, no one was injured.”

It is currently unknown if anything was stolen in the robbery attempt. Bush purchased the home back in 2019 for $5.65 million and reportedly came with a state of the art alarm system and surveillance cameras.

The estate was said to be walled and gated off. Bush did not respond for comment per TMZ’s request.

It’s been a wild year for Bush, who’s been a TV star for FOX Sports since his retirement from football. The former USC star was granted his Heisman Trophy following the recruiting scandal that rocked USC back in the mid-2000s.

Now that he’s back in the Heisman fraternity, Bush, along with former QB Caleb Williams, will have his jersey put into USC’s Heisman winners area at Memorial Coliseum.

Bush was forced to voluntarily forfeit his Heisman Trophy following an NCAA investigation in 2010 that revealed him receiving illegal payments. But on April 25, his Heisman Trophy was reinstated because of ‘enormous changes in the college football landscape’ with college athletes now allowed to be paid using their name, image, and likeness.

The reinstatement of Bush’s Heisman set his historic 2005 season for the Trojans back in stone after leading the country in all-purpose yardage. Rushing for 1,658 yards and 15 touchdowns, catching 31 passes for 383 yards and two scores through the air, and racking up 570 return yards between kickoffs and punts including an 84-yard punt return score.

Bush rightfully received his proper recognition for his Heisman Trophy this year, as he and Williams will now see their numbers amongst other USC greats whenever they return to Memorial Coliseum.

Bush can certainly smile at USC these days, considering the Trojans are 2-0 on the year, which includes a win over LSU to open the season. The Big Ten version of USC is different from Bush’s Pac-10 days, but the Trojans could very well be a conference contender in 2024.
