Tom Brady's agent breaks silence, calls report of recruiting visit with Matthew Stafford 'not accurate'

On Wednesday, it was reported that Tom Brady, a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, recently hosted Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford at his home in Montana.
With Stafford’s future in LA in question, it was widely speculated that this was a potential recruitment visit between the pair. This does not appear to be the case after all, as Brady’s longtime agent, Don Yee, spoke to NFL insider Tom Pelissero to clarify the report.
“I know that reporters sometimes make mistakes in their haste, but this story’s inaccurate,” Pelissero tweeted.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport chimed in, quote tweeting Pelissero’s report. He noted that both Brady and Stafford own homes in the same ski community.
Both Pelissero and Rapoport reporting this being a more casual situation between Brady and Stafford contradicts the initial report from FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz that Brady was “actively trying to convince Stafford to join the Raiders,” and that Las Vegas is “believed to be the most aggressive suitor.”
The rumors were brought about amid the Rams’ decision on whether to extend and pay Stafford or to move on from the veteran Super Bowl-winning QB. However, recent reports appear to depict the two parties having a mutual interest in returning Stafford in 2025 with a new contract.

Over the weekend, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler broke down where the situation stands, saying that the Rams want to keep Stafford in LA and work out a new deal.
“He’s due $27 million in cash this year. He is underpaid and is still one of the top five to seven quarterbacks in the league, so they have to work something out,” Fowler explained. “But the belief league-wide is that the Rams will have a threshold and a limit as to how far they’ll go with that money. He’s in his late 30s, some durability questions, so they’re going to have to try to find a sweet spot. If they can’t, then teams are interested.”
Fowler name-dropped the New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers and Las Vegas Raiders as teams who are known to be in the search for a quarterback. Teams around the league are “monitoring” to see if the Rams and Stafford can come together and reach a deal. However, Fowler did not touch on specifics for the Raiders, or any of the teams he mentioned are in the quarterback market.
He reiterated that, as of now, the Rams do feel like Stafford will be back for the 2025 season, “but something has to get done with the contract.”
