Tom Brady and Nick Foles are forever linked due to their matchup in Super Bowl LII, won by Foles’ Eagles 41-33 over Brady’s Patriots.
In that game, Foles famously caught a touchdown pass on 4th and Goal near the end of the first half, dubbed the “Philly Special.” It is an iconic play in Philadelphia Eagles lore. Brady meanwhile, failed on a similar play earlier in the game, dropping a would-be catch for a first down.
So, Brady and Foles reunited, sort of, for a commercial for NoBull for Super Bowl LIX.
Is Brady still salty about it? Maybe, considering he referenced luck a good amount in regards to Foles’ catch and performance. But nonetheless, Super Bowl LII was a thriller and the first title for the Eagles in franchise history.
The Patriots had won the year prior over the Atlanta Falcons and then won Super Bowl LIII over the Los Angeles Rams.
Both QBs have since retired from the game, with Brady on hand to call Sunday’s Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. Foles will surely be rooting for his old franchise to capture Lombardi No. 2.
This isn’t the first time Brady and Foles were linked years after the Philly Special. Brady called the NFC Championship for FOX two weeks ago and the cameras showed Foles in attendance.

So, play-by-play man Kevin Burkhardt nudged Brady to play along.
“Nick, I don’t hate you,” Brady said while chuckling. “I’m just jealous of you. You caught it, I didn’t.”
Brady, a seven-time winner, definitely knows the feeling of winning a championship. But perhaps that one stings a little bit, even though he and the Patriots won the very next season and Brady would go on to win one with the Tampa Bay Bucs two years after that.
Over the course of his career, Foles finished his career with 14,227 yards, 82 touchdowns, 47 interceptions and a 62.4% completion percentage. In 2013, Foles set an NFL record for 27 touchdowns and two interceptions for the best ratio for a single season.
He also has an NFL record seven touchdown passes in a single game, which he set that same season.
Foles had a 29-29 career record as a starter with the Eagles, then-St. Louis Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts.
