Tom Brady went after Dak Prescott during the announcement of his broadcasting debut on Fox. At the Advertising Upfronts on Monday, Michael Strahan announced that Brady will call the game between the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns to start the 2024 season. This led to Brady giving his thoughts on the Cowboys.
“Dak Prescott, let’s see if he can finally come through,” Brady said. The comment led to laughter in the audience, and Brady then said, “Did that just slip out?”
It sounds like Brady is a little bitter about what happened the last time he took on the Cowboys. During the 2022 season, Brady led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a NFC South title. They took on the Cowboys in the wild-card round of the playoffs, and Prescott led the Cowboys with 305 passing yards and five total touchdowns for the victory. It would be Brady’s last game in his NFL career.
Brady will now have a closer look at the Cowboys, a team that has not played in the Super Bowl since the 1995 season. In the last three years, the Cowboys have finished with a 12-5 record but have not gotten past the divisional round of the playoffs.
“Obviously, having the Cowboys on is a huge draw,” Brady said during the event. “As America’s Team, that’s gonna get a little hard for me to say that all the time, understanding that they were the competition for a long time. But in this new role, I know how important the Cowboys are to this network.”

Dak Prescott studied Tom Brady’s health routine
Despite poking fun at Prescott, Brady has a lot of respect for him, and it goes both ways. In December, Prescott talked about how he studied the former Buccaneers and New England Patriots QB when it comes to his health routine.
“You’re always looking at greats and what they’re doing, and you see guys, like LeBron [James], Tom Brady, have these methods and spend millions of dollars on their body each year, and you wonder why,” Prescott said, per ESPN. “And it’s obvious when they’re playing as long as they played at such a high level that that’s what they need to do to feel comfortable. So for me, it’s about making sure just, yeah, I leave no stone unturned.”
Prescott has been with the Cowboys since the 2016 season. In his eight years in Dallas, Prescott has been named Offensive Rookie of the Year and has played in three Pro Bowls.
