Tom Brady invokes tuck rule while criticizing Super Bowl LIX call against Chiefs defense

Questionable calls are aplenty during the first quarter of Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, and Tom Brady has had enough.
Brady, who played in 10 Super Bowls and won seven during his 23-year NFL career, knows these games can come down to a few calls. Brady has been on both ends of it, notably the “Tuck Rule” game in the 2001 AFC Divisional Round. He recalled that game while breaking down a costly unnecessary roughness penalty on Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie.
Brady disagreed with the call.
“[Dallas] Goedert was going up for it, McDuffie was too,” Brady said, via Awful Announcing. “It’s somewhat incidental. Ah, there’s not much there either. … I don’t like that one either. I just think you throw the ball high in the defense and he [Goedert] barely gets hit in the face and I just always feel like these big games come down to one or two calls. Look, I was on the end of the Tuck Rule, and I was glad Twitter wasn’t around then.”
The Eagles cashed in off the McDuffie penalty, quarterback Jalen Hurts scoring on the tush push. But this wasn’t the only penalty Brady took issue with.
Tom Brady, Mike Pereira shred controversial pass interference call against AJ Brown on 4th down vs. Chiefs
Philadelphia went for it on fourth down during its first drive of the game, Hurts connecting with AJ Brown on a deep ball down the right sideline. Officials called offensive pass interference on Brown, saying he pushed off on McDuffie.

Plenty of people were immediately upset with the call including Brady and rules analyst Mike Pereira.
“He’s a big, physical, strong receiver. Just getting off the press on McDuffie. Aww, don’t like that one bit. This is too critical of a game. The hand-fighting is going on down the field. What do you think, Mike?” Brady asked.
“Certainly, I agree when you look at, there’s hand-fighting. There’s a little bit of shove at the end and a trip. I think it’s one that did not need to be called,” Pereira explained.
“I always thought in these games you let the players play. It should be decided on the field. Don’t like that call to start the game,” Brady finished.
