Tom Brady had his roast on Netflix last week, and while he seemed to have a good time, there was one aspect of it he did not like. The seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback recently appeared on The Pivot Podcast and talked about how the live event impacted his family.

“I loved when the jokes were about me, I thought they were so fun. I didn’t like the way it affected my kids,” Brady said. “It’s the hardest part about like the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of sudden you realize I wouldn’t do that again because of the way that affected the people that I care about the most in world.

“It makes you in some ways a better parent going through it because again sometimes you’re naive,” Brady continued. “You don’t know or you get a little like, ‘Oh s—.’ When I signed up for that, I love when people were making fun of me. I always said like when I was going through all the deflategate stuff in 2015-2016, I watched three things on TV. I watched Premier League Soccer, I watched golf and I watched comedy shows. …I just want to laugh.”

Tom Brady reportedly issues apology to Gisele Bündchen

Brady has three children — son Jack, 16, son Benjamin, 14, and daughter Vivian, 11. Brady shares Jack with his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan and shares Benjamin and Vivian with his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen. It was reported that Bündchen was not happy with the roast since jokes were made about her and Brady’s divorce and her new boyfriend jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente. It led to Brady reportedly issuing an apology to Bündchen.

“She thinks her new relationship should have been off-limits. Tom did reach out to Gisele to apologize to her,” a source told Us Weekly. “They are cordial and only communicate about the kids.”

The source also expressed how upset the supermodel was about the roast of Brady. “Gisele and Tom had a ‘no disparaging remarks’ rule when it came to speaking about each other or their marriage and divorce. “She is definitely offended and upset about the comments made at the roast,” the source said. Bündchen “is aware that it comes with the territory of a roast but didn’t think there were going to be that many remarks made about her and especially her new relationship.”
