The collapse of FTX apparently cost Tom Brady quite a bit of coin. A report from The New York Times indicates the seven-time Super Bowl champion lost tens of millions of dollars because of the downfall.
Brady served as an ambassador for FTX prior to the collapse. He, and ex-wife Gisele Bundchen, promoted the crypto-currency company in various ways, including commercials and TikTok videos.
Despite the investment from multiple athletes, the company filed for bankruptcy. As a result, Brady lost all of the money he had in the company, which included $30 million in company stock.
As if that’s not enough, Bundchen lost $18 million in shares, as well. So, the former couple would’ve lost a combined $48 million in shares, which is how the company paid the two for promotion.
That might be the biggest hit Brady has taken in his career … and it didn’t even come on a football field.
Tom Brady ‘certain’ he’s done with football
The “Brady’s coming back” rumors probably won’t quiet down until Week 1 of the NFL season gets underway. And now that we know he lost around $30 million in the FTX collapse, maybe he has even more incentive to jump back in for another season.

But earlier this year, Brady said he was “certain” he was done with football. He claims his career officially ended following the 2022 season.
“I’m certain I’m not playing again,” Brady said in an interview with Sports IIlustrated. “I tried to make that clear. I hate to continue to profess that because I’ve already told people that lots of times.
“Looking forward to my broadcasting job with Fox next year,” he said. “Looking forward to the opportunity I have with the Raiders, we’re in the process with that. …In my personal life spending as much time with my kids as I can, seeing them grow up and supporting the different things they have going on. That’s a very important job and I take them all very seriously.”
So, even though his bank account took quite a hit, it sounds like Brady is still going to stay away from the field.
