Tom Brady reveals Mike Evans reaction to giving away 600th touchdown ball
After the Buccaneer’s 38-3 win, Tom Brady revealed Mike Evans’ reaction once he realized he gave away the record 600th touchdown ball to a fan. Evans was the receiver of Brady’s milestone touchdown and celebrated by giving the football to a fan in the stands without realizing the significance of the play.
Mike Evans gave away Tom Brady’s trophy
“Brady on getting his 600th touchdown ball back after Mike Evans gave it to a fan: “I don’t keep too many things. In that circumstance, I thought that might be a good one to keep.” [Brady] says the fan who gave the ball back is gonna get something nice in return,” stated Fox Sports’ Sara Walsh.
Brady himself explained what happened on the sideline as Evans realized his mistake, laughing the situation off.
“I believe I’m just very lucky to play with so many great players and teammates over the years — I just try to do my job as best I can,” Brady told CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson after the game. “I have amazing people on the receiving end of those over 22 seasons so nothing in this sport is done as an individual. In the end I’m just very grateful for being able to play as long as I have and playing with so many great receivers.
“It was pretty funny, he was like ‘Man sorry, do you want it back?’ I said I think they’re probably going to get it anyway but you’re good. Mike does so many great things in the community and his foundation, but then he gives back. Every time he scores he gives the touchdown ball away. It’s all good. As long as — I definitely know we got that one back, that was one I wanted to have.”

A memorable night for Brady
After Sunday’s big win, Tom Brady made a lifetime memory for one young fan by speaking with him after the game. As the game winded down, Brady visited with the young fan sitting alongside the field and gave him a hat and shook his hand.
Adding to the great moment, Jordan Moore of The Athletic stated that the reason Brady visited with his fan is because he brought a sign to the game that read “Tom Brady helped me beat cancer.”
Brady then came over to meet with his young fan and gave him an experience to remember. As he got to meet his NFL idol, Brady gave him his hat and shook hands with him. The kid was visibly overcome with emotion, making a great moment for everyone involved.
Tampa Bay rolled over the Chicago Bears 38-3, with most of the action occurring in the first half. The Buccaneers led 35-3 at the half and the only scoring in the rest of the game was a field goal. Brady had four touchdowns and threw for a passer rating of 109.8 in the blowout win.
