Tom Brady still follows strict diet plan despite retirement
Tom Brady just can’t help himself. The NFL legend recently admitted he still adheres to a strict diet despite no longer taking the field.
“I’ve developed so many healthy habits, I just want to stick with them,” Brady told People magazine. “”I don’t think it’s a strict regimen… I think it’s just trying to make healthy choices that allow me to live the life I want to live.”
Not everybody would agree with Brady’s sentiment. Brady’s stern diet excludes food groups such as white sugar, dairy, white flour, iodized salt and caffeine. The seven-time Super Bowl champion reportedly even avoids foods most people would consider healthy, such as nightshade vegetables and strawberries.
Although the diet might seem ridiculous to outsiders, they can’t deny the results. Before retiring in February, Brady amassed countless NFL records, including most career touchdown passes (649), most regular-season passing yards (89,214) and most-career completions (7,753).
Suddenly, strawberries don’t sound so good. While Brady’s playing days are over, he still stays active. The 45-year-old father of three spends plenty of his time golfing and playing pickleball. These sports might not be as physical, but they still require a healthy body.
“I think what I put in my body is very important,” Brady said.
Brady will need need to be just as sharp mentally as he is physically. Brady agreed to a 10-year, $375 million deal with FOX Sports before his first retirement that will allow him to immediately become the network’s No. 1 color analyst.

“I love my time with my family and trying to get some work things done. I’m still staying pretty busy,” Brady told People magazine.
Busy is correct. Brady recently bought a Major League Pickleball expansion team. He is one of several athletes to invest in the league, including Lebron James, Draymond Green and Kevin Love. Perhaps his fellow athletes should also hop on the Brady Diet.
In 2022, Healthline reviewed the famed dietary plan.
“The Tom Brady Diet, or TB12 Method, is a whole-foods-based diet that may aid weight loss, protect against diseases, and boost your sports performance and recovery. Still, it’s very restrictive and many principles are not based on sound science making it difficult to maintain long term.”
Brady isn’t having any problems maintaining the diet. Brady is scheduled to begin his time as a Fox Sports analyst in 2024.
