Tom Brady tells Lamar Jackson he's been a fan of his since high school
Tom Brady retired from the NFL as the GOAT. However, there are quarterbacks in the game today who are capable of doing things that he was never able to do. Chief among those quarterbacks is Lamar Jackson.
When Jackson joined Brady on the Let’s Go Podcast, Brady explained that he’s been a fan of Jackon’s since he saw him make a highlight reel play at the high school level.
“The first time I ever really noticed you was that high school highlight where you put the brakes on the guy and he went flying by,” Tom Brady said. “And not that I’ve ever had that experience in my entire life, I don’t even know what that feels like, but now you’re doing that at the highest level.”
Tom Brady did manage to juke Brian Urlacher once and had 28 career rushing touchdowns, most of which were of the quarterback sneak variety. However, he admitted, that was nothing close to what Lamar Jackson does from the quarterback position.
Jackson is an incredibly talented runner and Brady knows that he’s a huge part of what fans love about football.
“You’re the reason why people watch the NFL,” Brady said. “Because guys like you and just have an amazing career. So, thanks for coming on.”

Both Brady and Jackson have won the MVP and many people expect Jackson to win again this season. However, Brady remains the GOAT and that type of compliment from Brady still means a ton to any quarterback in the NFL.
“I appreciate that,” Jackson told Brady. “It means a lot coming from you.”
Tom Brady claims he nearly came out of retirement in 2023
2023 was the first season Tom Brady spent retired. That came after he came out of retirement once already and, as he admitted in an Instagram post, he nearly came out of retirement again during the 2023 season.
“Looking back on 2023 grateful for every moment. Cherishing the highs, learning from the lows, and looking forward to what’s coming next. I’m blessed to have family and friends filled with so much love, joy, and compassion surrounding me,” Brady wrote.
“As you get older, you realize that this is really the only thing that matters, and I’ll never take these people for granted. Hug your kids, call your parents, tell your friends that you love them, and let’s all help make 2024 a kinder and happier year for everyone in our lives. (PS: The only downside to 2023 was when I was about to unretire in May and my friends threw a surprise retirement party. Kind of forced my hand).”
