Tom Brady enjoyed a 23-year career in the NFL, winning seven Super Bowl rings and three MVP awards. So, you’d think the Hall of Fame quarterback would love for his son to pursue a similar career path. But that’s not necessarily the case.

In an interview with ESPN, Brady indicated that he has no plans of meddling in the dreams of his kids. But if he had his choice? He wouldn’t want his son, Jack, to chase after football.

Brady said that there could be a lot of pressure that comes with the territory.

“I hope he finds the things in his life that allow him to get up every day to be internally motivated to work hard at something he loves to do,” Brady said, per FOX News. “I don’t think football . . . a lot of it, I wouldn’t choose for him to do that, because there’s too many crazy expectations that people would put on him. Most of them probably very unfair, actually.

“So, whatever path he chooses in life – or my son Benny or my daughter Vivi – whatever they choose, I’m there to support them, just like my dad supported me. I was very lucky to find something that I loved to do.”

Brady makes an interesting argument. Because of his success with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jack might face an unfairly high amount of expectations on a football field. But, the former quarterback doesn’t intend to stand in the way of the sport, if that’s what his son truly wants to pursue.

Tom Brady says he supports his kids’ dreams

Quite frankly, Brady doesn’t care what career path his children pursue. He says he’ll stand behind them and support them while they chase their dreams.

“I think that’s what we as parents should do,” Brady said. “We should support our children’s dreams, whatever it may be, it doesn’t need to be sports. It could be whatever. It could be performing arts, it could be music, it could be science, it could be law, it could be medicine. So, I think that’s part of being a parent, is supporting your kids’ dreams.”

And, again, Brady has no plans of stopping Jack from playing football. The former NFL superstar said on his Let’s Go! podcast earlier this year that he’s loved watching his son on the field.

“Getting out there and watching him play has been so much fun for me,” Brady said. “I just love watching him and seeing him enjoy it with his friends.”
