Tommy DeVito injury update: Giants QB questionable, not traveling with team for Thanksgiving game vs. Cowboys

New York Giants (2-9) quarterback Tommy DeVito (right forearm) has been listed as questionable for the Thanksgiving Day road matchup against the Dallas Cowboys (4-7).
DeVito, limited in Tuesday’s practice, was downgraded to “did not participate” in Wednesday’s practice projection. The 26-year-old won’t travel with the team but is expected in Dallas later on Wednesday, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Drew Lock took first-team reps this week with DeVito’s status uncertain.
DeVito made his first start of the season this past Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-6), a 30-7 home defeat. He and New York’s offense struggled, as he completed 21-of-31 passes for 189 yards. DeVito took some big hits and was sacked four times.
“I don’t really remember a specific play,” DeVito said Tuesday, via the team’s official website. “It’s kind of just adding up all the hits.”

DeVito admitted his whole body was sore coming out of the game.
“My whole body’s kind of sore,” DeVito said. “First time playing in a while, took a couple shots. It’s not even 48 hours, so things are still kind of just settling in.”

Head coach Brian Daboll said he was “hopeful” DeVito could go against Dallas but if not, Lock will get his first start with New York. Lock has 23 starts under his belt with the Denver Broncos (7-5) and Seattle Seahawks (6-5) but has played just 13 snaps across three games this season.
“His forearm is sore, and we’ll see where we’re at,” Daboll said. “We had a walkthrough right before this. It is sore, so we’ll see where we’re at here. He threw in the walkthrough. I wouldn’t say it’s timing or a lot of depth to it or velocity to it, but he was throwing in the walkthrough.
“He’s going to test it out here today in practice in another walkthrough. So, I’m hopeful, but it’s not 100 percent.”
