WATCH: Tony Pollard leaves locker room on crutches with leg cast after Dallas Cowboys loss

After the Dallas Cowboys had their season end on Sunday, injured running back Tony Pollard was seen leaving the stadium in a leg cast. Pollard was carted off the field in the first half of the game after suffering an ankle injury, and ruled out by the team at halftime for the remainder of the game. After the loss, Pollard exited the locker rooms on crutches with a cast over his left leg.

Although it was unclear exactly how Pollard was injured on the play, replay showed his ankle getting pinned underneath a defender dragging him down after a reception.
The broadcast team immediately pointed to the similarity of his injury to the one suffered by Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes on Saturday. Mahomes continued in the game with visible pain, and was later diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain.
Pollard’s injury came on a second-quarter drive that Dallas was threatening to score on, which ended quickly afterwards with a Dak Prescott interception and a major momentum shift. San Francisco finished the half with a field goal of their own off the turnover and entered the break with a 9-6 lead.

The future of the Cowboys roster is now a major question mark for fans, as Pollard is an unrestricted free agent heading into next season. With Ezekiel Elliott under a large contract and Pollard emerging as a top rusher in the league, Dallas fans might have seen Pollard take his last snap in a Cowboys uniform on Sunday.
The Cowboys’ season ended with another loss to the 49ers in the playoffs on Sunday, leaving Dallas with plenty of decisions to make about next season. Prescott continued his recent issues with turnovers in the loss, throwing another two picks in the first half and finishing with 206 yards and one touchdown.
