Daytona! The Coke Zero Sugar 400 is here and we are ready to lock in the final NASCAR playoff spot ahead of the final 10 weeks of the season. Will it be Bubba Wallace holding onto his points lead? Or will we see a surprise winner from the other 16 drivers without a checkered flag in 2023? Forget all of that for a bit, because we’re here to simply talk paint schemes.

While most other sports have colorful shoes, cleats, spikes, and other accessories, NASCAR is different. There are firesuits, of course, but what people really care about aesthetically are the cars. The right driver and sponsor can become almost synonymous with each other under the right circumstances.

This weekend, we have some very interesting schemes for the Coke Zero Sugar 400. Some new looks, twists on old designs, and a couple of awesome crossovers.

Top-5 schemes for Coke Zero Sugar 400

Martin Truex Jr. – Bass Pro Shops/Ducks Unlimited Toyota
The Bass Pro looks are almost always great. However, Truex is trading in the black and orange for a green and blue look. Ducks Unlimited joins in on this one with Bass Pro for a scheme that fans are going to love to look at. Truex is still searching for a win at Daytona and would like to end the regular season with the trophy and bonus points coming home with him.

Bubba Wallace – Columbia/Luke Combs Toyota
This is a fun collaboration between Columbia Sportwear and Luke Combs. With Combs on board with Bubba Wallace this week in this great No. 23 design, it should make that Toyota a “Fast Car.” Wallace has that last playoff spot for now, can he get a walk-off win heading into the postseason?

Michael McDowell – Fr8Auctions Ford
The Indy Road Course winner is back this week with a solid Fr8Auctions design. I like this one for the “Racing” font and placement on the fender. This is a great example of how you need to utilize the extra space on the car with the numbers pushed forward. It also helps that Front Row Motorsports makes sure to wrap the side skirts!

Ryan Preece – RaceChoice.com Ford
A fun partnership with Ryan Preece and RaceChoice. For those small-town local track racers, RaceChoice might have that helmet or safety equipment you need to compete in your next race. Preece not only has a new sponsor this week for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 but also a fun new look that should pop under the lights at Daytona.

Alex Bowman – Ally Arena Chevy
While this isn’t an official Fortnite scheme, it is awesome to see the gaming world come to NASCAR. Drivers used to have cartoons, movies, and all kinds of pop culture media on their cars. The Ally Arena was created in the game of Fortnite and is a place where young race fans can enjoy games and community with others. It also makes for a great paint scheme.
