For the first-ever NASCAR Chicago Street Race, drivers and teams have put out some awesome paint schemes. There is a strong mix of classic looks reimagined, brand-new schemes, and some with local flare and meaning. Sometimes, it’s the subtle things that make a scheme great.

While it would have been great to have a little more creativity from some teams and sponsors, there was enough to be happy about this week. We’ve got a good mix of manufacturers as well.

When the NASCAR Cup Series hits the streets of Chicago, the cars are going to look great with the city’s highrises towering above. We’ve even got an F1 champion in the field. So, let’s get right into it.

Top-5 NASCAR paint schemes for Chicago

Denny Hamlin – Yahoo! Toyota Camry
Look, I’m a simple man. I see the purple Yahoo! car, I put it in my top-5 for the week. This is a scheme that looks great no matter the track that it is on. Purple on a race car is just an easy way to my heart, so here it is. Denny Hamlin racing into NASCAR Chicago weekend with a great look.

Jenson Button – Mobil 1 Ford Mustang
Here is our 2009 F1 champion! Suiting back up with Rick Ware Racing with assistance from Stewart-Haas Racing, Button jumps back in the No. 15 Ford Mustang for NASCAR Chicago. He’s back with Mobil 1 on the car. The Pegasus design is just too classic not to include and the overall scheme just looks brilliant.

Noah Gragson – Wendy’s Chevy Camaro
Here is one to make you all hungry reading this. Wendy’s is back with Noah Gragson this weekend. There is a special twist to this one, it’s the Baconator car. With two racing strips down the middle, this scheme is sizzling heading into Chicago.

Ty Dillon – Chicago White Sox Chevy Camaro
Here is your local twist. Dillon and Spire Motorsports are teaming up with the Chicago White Sox this NASCAR weekend as well as Beggars Pizza. It is a completely Chi-Town look and honestly, it’s gorgeous. Black and white done the right way. Just an eye-pleasing look.

Daniel Suárez – Worldwide Express Chevy Camaro
Another NASCAR Chicago scheme that is sure to please local fans. The red and powder blue on this car makes it perfect for this weekend. Suárez is pretty talented on the road, so we could see this 99 Chevy near the front on Sunday. Lots of white space, but it comes together with the red-foil numbering.
