The final weekend of the season. It’s all come down to the NASCAR Championship and some teams have brought their best. I’m talking paint schemes, of course. There are a few truly unique designs this weekend that fans are going to love.

There were times in the past when NASCAR and pop culture were in lockstep. If there was a new movie coming out, it was going to get a paint scheme. Remember the Cartoon Network car? It feels like some of that has been lost over the years.

However, there are teams and drivers that are bringing that back. In my mind, the best NASCAR sponsors are the ones that reach a wide audience. Sure, it makes sense to have a pneumatic machinery company on cars and trucks. But is that something everyday fans use? I’m not so sure.

Think of the most iconic brands in the sport – fast food, beer, hardware and automotive stores, and everyday automotive needs. Convenience stores, sodas, clothing brands – they all make for great sponsors that connect with fans. Film and TV, pop culture brands are also part of these fan-favorite sponsors.

Enough pontificating, let’s look at some NASCAR Championship weekend cars.

Top-5 Paint Schemes for NASCAR Championship weekend

Kevin Harvick – Busch Light “Harvick” Ford
One last ride. At the track he has nine wins at, Busch Light is sending Kevin Harvick off in style. Harvick has been a top-3 driver for me this year in terms of paint schemes. This “Harvick” Busch Light design is a little emotional. 9/10.

Christopher Bell – Rheem/DeWalt Toyota
Personally, a lot of these split designs are so-so for me. It takes a lot to make it look good. This Rheem and DeWalt combo is one of the rare ones I like. Christopher Bell is racing for a championship, let’s see if he can put this car into NASCAR Championship history. 8/10.

Bubba Wallace – Columbia Sportswear x Star Wars Toyota
I mean, it’s one of the coolest collabs we’ve seen in the sport for quite some time. Star Wars has been on a NASCAR car before. However, bringing them back in with Columbia Sportswear and Bubba Wallace is next level. This X-Wing will be flying by this Sunday. 10/10.

Tyler Reddick – Star Wars Toyota
What is even better about the car above, Tyler Reddick gets one to match. At least, he’s going to be playing the role of the Empire. Reddick is getting a plain Star Wars x Toyota brand…Toyota. Since he’s a Jordan Brand athlete, Columbia Sportswear is a no-go. It’s the same reason Wallace doesn’t race in Jordan Brand cars. Still, amazing look. 10/10.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Fry’s/Cheez-It Chevy
I love these Stenhouse Jr. and Kroger/Kroger affiliate store sponsors. These are the best crossovers and they almost always hit. This weekend it’s Fry’s and Cheez-It come together for an awesome-looking No. 47 car in Phoenix for NASCAR Championship weekend.
