Trackhouse Racing owner Justin Marks to drive for Kaulig Racing in Chicago Xfinity race
When the NASCAR Xfinity Series hits the street course in Chicago ahead of the Fourth of July week, Justin Marks will be on the track. The co-owner of Trackhouse Racing has agreed to get behind the wheel for Kaulig Racing.
This week, Kauling Racing made the announcement that Marks would drive for the team in the No. 10 car, sponsored by Jockey. It will be his first race in the series since 2018.
“It’s very difficult to retire as a racecar driver,” said Marks, per Motorsport.com. “I’ve got a lot of experience on street courses, so when NASCAR announced it was going to Chicago, I just felt like I really had to be a part of that experience. We have a great relationship with Kaulig Racing through our pit crew department and being a fellow Chevrolet team, so making my return to racing with the team just felt right. Jockey coming on board makes it even more enticing to run well in Chicago.”
Marks has run 35 races as an Xfinity Series driver with one victory and seven finishes in the top-10. He also participated in six NASCAR Cup Series races in his career.
Marks currently co-owns Trackhouse Racing, which houses Cup Series drivers Daniel Suarez and Ross Chastain.

“We’re excited to have Justin [Marks], another road-course ringer, come out of retirement and compete for us in the Xfinity Series,” said Chris Rice, president of Kaulig Racing. “I think that says a lot about the tremendous success Kaulig Racing has had in just a few short years, especially on road courses. Not only is Justin Marks a successful team owner in NASCAR, but he has a ton of experience on street courses, so having him come on board for this historic weekend in our industry just makes sense.”
NASCAR heads to Chicago before 4th of July
NASCAR has started hitting more cities and incorporating more road and street courses into its schedule. Before the Fourth of July, the league heads to Chicago for a street course event.
The Xfinity Series race takes place on Saturday, July 1. The Loop 121 is scheduled for a 5 p.m. ET start. Coverage airs on USA.
On Sunday, the Cup Series takes over the Windy City. The Grant Park 220 is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. ET green flag time, with the event airing on NBC.
It’s a great way for the NASCAR circuit to kickstart the holiday weekend.
