A huge announcement from Trackhouse Racing will make motorsports fans very happy. The team is competing in the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Both Shane van Gisbergen and Connor Zilisch, arguably the two most talented road course racers in all of NASCAR, are on the team.

Trackhouse Racing is teaming up with TF Sport to field the team. And it gets better. IndyCar driver, and fellow Supercars legend Scott McLaughlin will also be part of this team. IMSA veteran Ben Keating rounds out the group.

SVG, Zilisch, McLaughlin, and Keating behind the wheel of the Trackhouse TF Sport Corvette Z06 GT3.R. 24 Hours of Daytona against the best of the best in the GTD PRO class. They are going to be racing for the win, too.

All of these drivers have experience in the Daytona 24 hours. Last season, Zilisch won the race with his Era Motorsports LMP2 team. SVG has competed multiple times, finishing a career-best P2 in the GTD class in 2015.

As for McLaughlin, he has competed the last two seasons in the LMP2 class at Daytona. Keating has never won at Daytona but has won an IMSA championship in LMP2 before. But Keating is a two-time class winner at Le Mans.

Trackhouse Racing and TF Sport have put together a great team. The age difference from youngest to oldest driver is 35 years! We will have to see them practice and qualify before making any assumptions, but I like their chances.

Can Connor Zilisch add to early legacy?

A year ago, Connor Zilisch was just a young kid with a lot of talent. There have been a lot of kids like him. In motorsports, the young phenoms don’t always pan out. Then he took on the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

He had impressed in Late Models, go-karts, Trans Am, and other series. But going out and winning the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring back-to-back – it was his springboard into the spotlight.

Zilisch then set the Truck Series track record at COTA for qualifying. He had a mistake-filled race that still ended in a P4 finish. He won a handful of ARCA races, a CARS Tour race, and some other events.

Trackhouse Racing showed everyone why they signed Connor time and time again in 2024. But it all culminated in his masterclass at Watkins Glen in the Xfinity Series. His debut in the series. He was on another level in a race that featured SVG, AJ Allmendinger, Ross Chastain, Joey Logano, and the Xfinity regulars.

Is Trackhouse Racing going to go to Daytona and shock IMSA? There is a good chance that they will given the lineup they have put together.
