WATCH: Trae Young makes defender look silly in Pro-Am event
This NBA offseason it seems like all the superstars are playing in different kinds of amateur basketball games that aren’t actual NBA games to pass the time. Atlanta Hawks superstar Trae Young took his turn this weekend in the CrawsOver Pro-Am league and he put a defender on his highlight tape.
Check it out as he takes him through the legs off the bounce and then dishes the double alley-oop.
The CrawsOver Pro-Am League is the creation of none other than former Chicago Bulls star Jamal Crawford, who was a highly explosive scorer, earning Sixth Man of the Year honors three times during his 20-year NBA career.
Trae Young, Dejounte Murray, and John Collins got the 126-121 win at the CrawsOver League and fans stormed the court following the win on Sunday night.
The Hawks recently added Dejounte Murray to help out their young superstar, Trae Young. Atlanta was able to secure a trade that they had been pursuing for some time, and without giving up John Collins as initial trade rumors indicated.
Murray has dramatically improved over the past three seasons after suffering a season-ending ACL tear in 2018. In 2019, Murray averaged 10.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists — jumping to 21.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 9.2 assists last season. Murray’s defense improved as well, finished with 2.0 steals per game last year.

Atlanta finished 8th in the Eastern Conference last season and faced the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs — where they were taken down 4-1 for a quick exit. The Hawks finished the season with a 43-39 record and defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Play-In Tournament to secure the No. 8 seed.
Trae Young has enjoyed a prolific career thus far
Trae Young has quickly established himself as one of the most prolific scorers in the league. Last season, he averaged 28.4 points, 9.7 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game for Atlanta. He’s been named an All-Star twice already in his young career (2020 and 2022). He also landed on the All-NBA third team this past season.
Young has been one of the most explosive scorers in the NBA since he entered it in 2018. During his storied career with the Oklahoma Sooners, he led the NCAA in scoring and assists during the 2018 season. He was named Big 12 Freshman of the Year and a consensus first team All-American that same year. The 848 points he scored in the Big 12 broke the conference’s record for the most points scored by a freshman. That record was previously owned by Kevin Durant.
Coming out of high school, Young was tabbed as one of the best players in the nation and was named to the McDonald’s All-American Game. While suiting up for Norman North High School (Norman, Oklahoma) during his senior year, he poured in 42.6 points per game, 5.8 rebounds per game, and 4.1 assists per game while shooting at a 48.9 percent clip.
