Travis Hunter is trying to find ways to deal with his ascension to superstardom ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. One of those avenues he’s explored is hiring a personal security guard.

While Hunter’s play on the football field led to some undeniable accolades, including the 2024 Heisman Trophy, he’s received backlash off the field and on the Internet for a number of reasons, including his relationship with fiancée Leanna Lenee. Social media can be a cruel place, so Hunter has taken steps to remove himself from the community.

Evidently, he’s also taken it one rung further, employing personal security due to the vigor he’s been exposed to. He explained his decision on the latest episode of The Travis Hunter Show, elaborating on why’s he’s withdrawn from the public eye ahead of taking his talents to the NFL.

“All the haters are messing up for my supporters,” Hunter stated regarding the last month and change, per TMZ Sports. “I rarely take pictures now because you don’t know what they’re going to do with it. … People are weird. People scare me because you never know who’s got good intentions and it can always go left at any moment.

“But it’s all good, because I’ve got Frank the Tank. I got a new security guard. Y’all will get to meet him soon. His name is Frank. Frankenstein.”

As a presumed top-three selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, Hunter must do whatever he can to keep the main thing the main thing, and it’ll be music to the ears of decision-makers that he’s taking the necessary steps. It’s helped Hunter regain some peace of mind, as he enters a transformative time period for himself.

“Don’t get on social media to go off off. … That’s why I dumbed down what I show people now. I don’t be on social media as much. … That would probably be, [what] I wish I realized earlier so it didn’t get to this point where I don’t gotta be on the apps,” Hunter added, via TMZ Sports.

“It’s bettered me. I live life happy. I walk around the house happy not having social media. Watching YouTube, on the phone with my friends, playing a game with my friends. Just having fun. I just got a different type of joy in me now, not having that stress.”

Perhaps there’s something to learn from Travis Hunter’s mindset, as he seems to be in a much better place after cleansing any distractions over the past month. The future is brighter than ever for the two-way superstar, as his story is just beginning.
