Travis Hunter is planning on going pro following this season.

During an interview on Zoom on Thursday, Hunter confirmed that he intends to enter his name for the 2025 NFL Draft.

“That’s definitely for sure,” Hunter said.

With that, Hunter also plans on continuing to be a two-way player when he gets to the NFL, something that has helped make him the leading candidate for the Heisman Trophy.

Hunter is in his third collegiate season after spending a year at Jackson State before his last two at Colorado. On offense, he has 149 receptions for 1,822 yards and 18 touchdowns. Then, on defense, he has 73 tackles, eight interceptions with one pick-six, 21 deflections, and a forced fumble.

2024, though, has taken Hunter to even another level of talent and prospect. He has put up career-best numbers at receiver this season with 74 catches for 911 yards and nine scores. He also is just as impactful as a defensive back too with 23 tackles, three picks with one going for that score, eight deflections, and the forced fumble.

Hunter is doing that as one of the most effective players in the sport who is part of a much-improved team with the Buffaloes, who are at 8-2 overall, and possibly make the College Football Playoff. All that now has him as a favorite for The Heisman Trophy too while also being one of the top projected selections in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Hunter has met and exceeded the interest in him with how he has produced in his sheer number of snaps in college. It’s now a question of if that ability of his being able to translate at the next level now that he’ll be out there for some team next season.

Hunter has become a superstar, both with his play and his brand, in college football. A franchise will now officially have the chance to select him this spring with this announcement on his future this afternoon.
