Travis Hunter reveals which NFL team he'd like to play for
It’s only a matter of time before Travis Hunter makes his way to the NFL. The star player made headlines when he chose to play at Jackson State for Deion Sanders instead of going to Florida State. Since then, he’s followed Sanders to Colorado as a transfer.
It was with the Buffaloes that Hunter made himself a nationally known player in Week 1, playing both ways as Colorado knocked off TCU to start the year. For many fans, it was that opening performance that got them excited about the future, and in particular, Hunter’s NFL future.
In the first episode of his show, 12 Talks, Travis Hunter shared the teams he would and the teams he wouldn’t be interested in playing for at the NFL level.
“If I had a say, I like staying in Colorado,” Hunter said.
That would be a huge boost for the Denver Broncos if they could land the superstar. However, in the NFL Draft system, players don’t necessarily get to choose who they play for. It’s easy enough to get picked up by a team that you didn’t necessarily want to play for. For Hunter, that would include the Green Bay Packers.
“Everybody I talk to, says I’m going to Green Bay, I don’t know why,” Hunter said. “But Green Bay is cold. I don’t got a problem with the cold. Why I gotta go to Green Bay?”
Of course, the NFL is still a little while away for Travis Hunter. He’s only a sophomore now, which means he’s not going to be eligible until the 2025 NFL Draft to get selected. However, when that time does come, he’s likely to be a high pick. Hunter is a versatile and talented player that any NFL team would love to have.

The only real question is whether or not he’d be able to play both ways in the NFL. Conventional wisdom says Hunter wouldn’t be able to do it, but there are a few rare examples of players playing both sides of the ball, like Troy Brown for the New England Patriots.
Deion Sanders is pushing Travis Hunter for the Heisman
Following that win over TCU, Deion Sanders went to bat for his guys, saying that a couple of them, including Travis Hunter, deserve to be in the Heisman conversation.
“I really think — I always promote all my kids. I really think we got a couple guys that should be frontrunners for the Heisman right now. That’s how I feel. And I want to promote my kids at all costs. But we got a couple of them that, who did that? Who did what they did today?” Sanders said.
“I tried to tell you, but you ain’t want to believe me because I’m just a, you know, I’m just a lofty ‘ole young coach, I don’t know nothing about football. I just played in the NFL for 14. Played at a high level in college for four. And been coaching youth all the way up for a long time. How do you think we got Dylan Edwards? I coached him when he was 4-to-7 years old. That’s why we got Dylan Edwards. Travis is… him, like the young folks say. Travis is it.”
