Travis Kelce attempts to lead Super Bowl parade crowd in drunken Garth Brooks rendition
The beers are certainly a flowin’ at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade Wednesday and as you might expect, Travis Kelce is at the center of it.
Kelce, the star tight end, took to the podium to “address” Chiefs Kingdom, but quickly transitioned into an open mic night routine. The boyfriend of pop music superstar Taylor Swift, Kelce showed off his singing chops, giving his own rendition of “Friends in Low Places” by Garth Brooks.
Now, it’s not quite a performance reminiscent of Brooks in front of over 100,000 people at Tiger Stadium, but it’s just fine when you consider the alcohol consumption up to that point. And sure, maybe a few words went awry, but nobody’s truly keeping score. This was about the vibes, and the vibes only. And when it comes to Kelce, the vibes are always high.
And how could they not be? Kelce is three days removed from adding to his Hall of Fame résumé, winning his third Super Bowl championship, all with the Chiefs and all coming within the past five seasons. He is one of the faces of the NFL’s newest dynasty, akin to the Pittsburgh Steelers of the 70s, the San Francisco 49ers of the 80s, the Dallas Cowboys of the 90s and the New England Patriots of the 2000s and 2010s.

Chiefs, Travis Kelce going for three-peat
Oh, and by the way, the Chiefs aren’t done yet. They’ve made it clear they’re coming for No. 4 and three in-a-row, something that’s never been done in NFL history.
“I mean, I’m gonna celebrate tonight. I’m gonna celebrate at the parade,” quarterback Patrick Mahomes said after the game. “And then I’m gonna do whatever I can to be back in this game next year and try to go for that three-peat. I think Tom [Brady] said it best – once you win that championship and you have those parades and you get those rings, you’re not the champion anymore. You have to come back with that same mentality, and I learned from guys like that that have been the greatest of all time at the top of the level.
“[We’re] gonna work our way to get back to this game next year.”
