Travis Kelce may have become a household name all off the field over the world over the last couple of months, but football is where he’ll continue to thrive.

Yes, Kelce received an influx of fame and attention due to his relationship with worldwide musical sensation Taylor Swift. Some have theorized that Kelce could be getting ready to settle down, calling it quits on an illustrious NFL career.

Don’t be so sure. While the rest of the league wouldn’t mind seeing Kelce take off, the Kansas City Chiefs star doubled down on his passion ahead of Saturday’s playoff clash with the Miami Dolphins.

“I have no reason to stop playing football,” Kelce said, via Marleah Campbell of KCTV5. “I have no desire to stop anytime soon.”

That’s about as convincing as it gets. Kelce made it clear that he wants to keep playing, and that’s exactly what he’s going to do.

As long as the Chiefs have Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, they’re going to have a chance at winning the Super Bowl. Plus, Kelce needs to be able to share the moment with his girlfriend, who’s yet to see the star tight end hoist the Lombardi. That’s all the motivation he needs.

More on Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs

Even in what’s to be considered a down season for Kelce and the Chiefs, the star tight end still put up some awesome numbers. All in all, Kelce amassed 93 receptions for 984 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

It’s a far cry from what we’ve grown accustomed to for Kelce, but the Chiefs offense as a whole suffered in 2023. Whether it be offensive line troubles, a lack of a true run game or Kansas City missing another wide receiver to take the pressure off the tight end, it wasn’t the usual unstoppable unit.

Sure, they had their moments, but this has to be the least confident the general public has been in the Chiefs in a long time. The possibility now exist that Mahomes and company could play the first road playoff game of his NFL career, as they’re only the No. 2 seed entering the postseason.

Nevertheless, anything can happen when you just make it to the dance, and the Chiefs punched their ticket. Now, it’s up to them to put on their best performances of the season in the playoffs. Travis Kelce will be bringing his best, we’ll see if the rest of the team can follow suit.
