Travis Kelce on new Chiefs contract: 'I can't wait to get after it these next two years'
The Kansas City Chiefs signed Travis Kelce to a contract extension, and he’s ready to win more championships. After signing his new contract, the three-time Super Bowl champion tight end sent a video message to his fans.
“Back at it again baby,” Kelce said in the video that was shared on the Chiefs’ official X (formerly known as Twitter) account. “Feels good to be in KC. I remember coming here 12 years ago. It’s an honor and a pleasure. I can’t wait to get after it these next two years, but no better than right now.”
Kelce went on to say that he’s getting “fired up for this year,” and he “just got on the field with the boys and we’re back at it baby. Chiefs forever.”
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the two-year contract extension is worth $34.25 million with $17 million fully guaranteed for the 2024 season. The new deal means Kelce is signed through the 2027 season, which would make him 38 years old.

Kelce is coming off a 2023 season where he fell 16 yards short of his eighth consecutive 1,000-yard season. He missed two games last season due to an injury and resting before the playoffs. Kelce finished the regular season with 93 receptions and 984 yards in 2023, leading to him being named to his ninth straight Pro Bowl.
Travis Kelce balancing football life with multiple projects
While Kelce does big things on the field, he’s making a name for himself outside of football. The Ohio native has made headlines over the last few months for dating music superstar Taylor Swift, but he’s establishing himself as a media personality, hosting the New Heights podcast with bother Jason Kelce and hosting the upcoming Prime Video game show Are you Smarter Than a Celebrity? Before the Super Bowl, Travis Kelce spoke to ESPN about balancing football and everything off the field.
“I have a lot of desire to be accountable for the ones next to me,” Kelce said. “Everybody has distractions or things in their lives that can take away from focus. You’ve just got to be able to compartmentalize that. … It might be on a national scale so it seems like it’s a lot harder, but the reality is when I step in those doors or on the field, I’m focused on championship football and being a Kansas City Chief.”
