Chiefs superstar Travis Kelce is prepping for a life out of the NFL. And he’s definitely toying with the idea of joining the media after he retires from football.

And chances are, the 33-year-old will be very good in front of the camera. After all, he’s getting all sorts of experience in the months since Kansas City beat Philadelphia in the Super Bowl.

Vanity Fair profiled Travis Kelce this month. The magazine isn’t going to write about a subject who doesn’t have some sort of crossover appeal with their readers. Nor would they style a football player in designer outfits and jewelry for a photo shoot. So that’s already telling about how the tight end is viewed outside of pro football.

Kelce told Vanity Fair he’d be quite good on the air.

“I could sit there, talk football, and make it relatable,” Kelce said. “I could get into the scheme of things. (And) I could make it make sense to the people who are just now getting into it. And I could bring the juice.”

He also could make a healthy paycheck if he followed in the foot steps of someone life Greg Olsen, a former tight end who now is part of the lead NFL announcing team for Fox Sports.

Travis Kelce recently signed with CAA, a powerhouse agency

Back in May, Travis Kelce signed with CAA, a Hollywood powerhouse agency, to be his off-field reps. He and his brother, Jason Kelce, already host a weekly podcast. And he became the 34th athlete to host Saturday Night Live back in March. He brought Jason along for a sketch. Critics loved him in the long-time sketch comedy show.

Eric Stonestreet, the former star of ABC comedy Modern Family, believes Kelce can make the transition from catching passes to acting. Stonestreet grew up in Kansas City and is an avid Chiefs fan. He and Kelce have gotten to know each other through their appearances in KC.

“Can he be an actor? One hundred percent,” Stonestreet told Vanity Fair. “Good performance starts with what Travis possesses naturally, which is an open heart.”

Earlier this year, Kelce also did promotional work for Ashoc Energy Drink alongside baseball superstar Aaron Judge. The two filmed in Tampa, Florida. Plus, Kelce hosted his own music festival. He called it Kelce Jam.

“At this point in my career, I’m over just putting my name on things,” Travis Kelce told Vanity Fair. “I love being an entrepreneur and being able to build with my partners. I’ve learned I really get out what I put into my businesses, and Kelce Jam is certainly no different. It’s great to be truly invested in all of my projects and I can’t wait to see what Kelce Jam grows into.”

His next project will be sports related. He and quarterback Patrick Mahomes are vying against NBA stars Steph Curry and Klay Thompson in The Match. It’s a made-for-TV golf event set for today in Las Vegas. Of course, he reports to preseason training camp, July 22.
