Travis Kelce is always down for a good time … even if he’s playing a round of golf on live television. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end hammered a beer bong during Thursday’s TNT coverage of The Match.

Kelce and NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes teamed up to take on Golden State Warriors stars Steph Curry and Klay Thompson in this year’s event in Las Vegas. And, during the summer months, it tends to get a little warm in the desert.

So, what better way to cool off between holes than by slamming a cold one. Kelce broke out a beer bong and chugged a brew before teeing off on the next hole.

Everyone enjoys an adult beverage while on the links. But we’re not all chugging them from a beer bong while playing a round on national television. To each their own.

Kelce has become one of the NFL’s more popular figures because of his willingness to be himself. He’s not afraid to speak his mind, a quality fans either love or hate.

It’s not really surprising that cameras captured him enjoying himself on the golf course.

Best moment from The Match came in pre-game show

As entertaining as it was to see Kelce downing a beer on the golf course, it wasn’t even close to the best moment The Match provided us on Thursday. That came during the pre-game coverage of the special event.

Charles Barkley revealed special news that his colleague and Inside the NBA host, Ernie Johnson, was named to the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame. It was a surprise announcement just moments before the event teed off.

“This is big, this is big. I want to be the first — I’m the only person up here who knows this. I want to be the first person — it’s an honor and a privilege to congratulate Ernie Johnson going into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame,” Barkley said.

Johnson was undoubtedly stunned by the news.

“Get outta here,” Johnson responded. “Chuckster, what are you talkin’ about?

“Man, that is awesome. Thank you so much. Thank you guys. And, whoever is responsible for that, whoever votes on that, I am humbled beyond words.”

Johnson has worked at TNT for 34 years, covering the NBA, MLB, March Madness and the PGA Championship. He’s been involved in sports broadcasting for over four decades.

He’s certainly enjoyed a Hall of Fame career behind the microphone.
