Report: Travis Scott busted Cody Rhodes' ear drum, delivered black eye during WWE Elimination Chamber

The WWE has tweaked the imagination of viewers for years, and on Saturday night the drama reached fever pitch when John Cena turned heel.
Amid the chaotic scene, which featured Cena turning on fellow wrestler Cody Rhodes, rapper Travis Scott also got involved. And that’s where things reportedly went wrong.
Scott got in on the action, giving Rhodes a hard hit that certainly didn’t require much imagination — it seemed like a solid connection.
And it reportedly left Rhodes, the WWE star, injured.
You can view a video of the hit in question below. As you can see, it certainly appears like Scott made solid contact with Rhodes.
Coming out of the event, the Wrestling Observer Radio show referenced the incident and revealed that Rhodes was legitimately hurt following the WWE Elimination Chamber event.
“Cody got hurt,” host Dave Meltzer said on Tuesday’s episode. “I’m pretty sure it was Travis Scott that did it. … I heard he had a busted ear drum and a black eye.”
Not what you want to have happen, and something that the WWE will have to look closely at when involving guests in the act in the future.
College football to the WWE?
During this year’s bowl season, a game between Jacksonville State and Ohio featured an interesting segment about Gamecocks receiver Brock Rechsteiner and his potential future in the WWE.

ESPN caught up with some of his family members from the world of professional wrestling: his father, Scott Steiner, and his cousin, Bron Breakker.
Speaking with the broadcast crew, Steiner spoke about his son’s future in professional wrestling, and how they’re looking to tackle the sport he knows so well when he finally hangs up his cleats with Jacksonville State.
“That’s the plan. That’s what he wants to do,” Steiner said, regarding Rechsteiner’s wrestling prospects. “Whatever makes him happy. …. He’ll be a Steiner. So that helps out. But he’s a good athlete. The sky is the limit for him. … When the time’s right, I’ll help him any time I can. … I’m happy for him. Watching him fulfill his athletic dreams. Once football is over, he’ll do it with wrestling.”
Football has translated well to the wrestling world in the past. Roman Reigns, who’s arguably the biggest name in the WWE at the moment, was a star at Georgia Tech as a defensive lineman. The aforementioned Breakker, Rechsteiner’s cousin, was a running back at Kent State, as well.
But what’s going to lead Rechsteiner to success in professional wrestling? Steiner put it plainly:
“Be a genetic freak like myself,” he joked. “It takes a lot of work. I did it for like, 25 years. So it takes awhile. He’ll be good.”
