Trevon Diggs injury update: Cowboys announce CB's status vs. Panthers
Trevon Diggs is out for Sunday’s game against the Panthers and did not travel with the Cowboys to Charlotte, the team announced. He is still dealing with a knee injury after playing in last week’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Diggs was limited in Wednesday and Thursday’s practice ahead of Week 15. However, he did not practice Friday and was questionable on the injury report heading into the weekend. That perhaps indicated he’d be able to go against the Panthers. However, that is no longer the case.
After the Cowboys announced Diggs’ status against the Panthers, FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer reported more devastating news. He will miss the rest of the season and undergo surgery on Sunday.
Diggs missed two games with his knee injury – against the Commanders and Giants – before making his return last week. Against Cincinnati, he had five tackles and three passes defended as the Cowboys fell in the final minutes, thanks in large part to a special teams blunder.

Dallas will also be without center Cooper Beebe for Saturday’s game due to a concussion, and safety Juanyeh Thomas is also out with a knee injury. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown was listed as out on the injury report, but the expectation is he’ll miss the rest of the year and perhaps next season due to a serious knee injury suffered during Monday Night Football.
Trevon Diggs is the latest notable Cowboys player to suffer a season-ending injury, in addition to Overshown. Quarterback Dak Prescott is out for the year due to a hamstring injury that required surgery, and offensive lineman Zack Martin will also miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury.
Dallas fell to 5-8 with Monday’s loss to the Bengals, which came as the franchise looked to extend its winning streak to three games. The Cowboys will take on the Panthers on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
