Trevon Diggs injury update: Dallas Cowboys inactives vs. Giants revealed
Although Trevon Diggs said he was going to give it a try against the New York Giants, he is inactive for Thursday’s game, the Dallas Cowboys announced. He was among the seven players ruled out for the Thanksgiving matchup.
Diggs was limited in two of the Cowboys’ three practices this week and entered Thursday questionable due to his groin injury. However, he will not be able to go against the shorthanded Giants, who will be without quarterback Tommy DeVito due to injury. Drew Lock will start at quarterback.
Guard Zack Martin and tight end Jake Ferguson were already ruled out on Wednesday’s final injury report. Here’s the full list of inactives for the Cowboys against the Giants.
- CB Trevon Diggs
- RG Zack Martin
- RB Deuce Vaughn
- CB Andrew Booth
- DE Marshawn Kneeland
- TE Jake Ferguson
- WR Ryan Flournoy
The Cowboys are coming off a thrilling victory over the Washington Commanders a week ago to snap a five-game losing streak. It came down to the final seconds, but a missed extra point from Austin Seibert sealed the victory in a game with plenty of ups and downs.

Thursday’s game against the Giants presents another opportunity for the Cowboys to keep the momentum. New York released Daniel Jones last week, and DeVito is officially inactive for the matchup. That means Lock will start at quarterback.
After the Commanders game, Mike McCarthy summed up what it meant to get a divisional victory. But despite the importance of the win, he said there’s still work to do to fully get back on track after the skid.
“Clearly, if you need a definition of urgency, we’ve definitely had it here over this last month and, frankly, I’m just thankful and really happy for the players — to have some success that they work so hard to achieve,” McCarthy said, per the team’s official website. “The fight has definitely been there. … [But] we’re still pretty far down in the valley of adversity right now. We’ve made one step in the right direction, so we’ve still got a lot of climbing to do.”
