Trevon Diggs injury update: Jerry Jones reveals new diagnosis on Cowboys star DB
Dallas Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones provided a harrowing update on defensive back Trevon Diggs on Friday, revealing he has a tear in his calf.
“Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan said CB Trevon Diggs has a ‘tear in his calf.’ Diggs has not practiced this week,” Jon Machota of The Athletic posted on X.
Diggs had previously missed practice with what was described as an undisclosed injury. Later in the aforementioned interview, Jones provided some more detail into Diggs’ ailment, believing he might be able to play through the pain moving forward.
“Jerry Jones later in the interview said that he’s not sure if Trevon Diggs will miss Sunday’s game,” Machota added. “Diggs said earlier in the week that his calf was ‘a little sore’ coming out of last Sunday’s game. Diggs added: ‘I’m getting treatment and working through it.'”
Through seven games this season, Diggs has recorded 28 tackles, one interception and four passes defended. How much someone is able to work through a tear in their calf remains to be seen, but it’s evident the Cowboys star will give it a shot.

Moreover, Diggs was also in the news this past week for an off-field issue. He lashed out at a reporter, but he’s since apologized. The defensive back spoke about the incident to fellow teammate Micah Parsons on his podcast.
“I just felt like it was unnecessary,” Diggs said. “I just felt like he was trying to use my name for clicks. After the game, I just happened to see it. I looked, clicked on it, seen who it was, and was like ‘Oh, he’s right here.’ I just saw you. So, I went up to him and spoke how I felt.”
Dallas will travel to Atlanta this weekend to face the Falcons. Time will tell if Trevon Diggs is available, but the game is an important one as it pertains to the NFC Wild Card hunt, and the Cowboys need to start racking up some wins moving forward.
