Trevon Diggs, Zack Martin injury updates: Status revealed for Dallas Cowboys stars vs. Commanders
The Dallas Cowboys are getting some key players back for Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders, but they are still far from fully healthy.
Dallas star cornerback Trevon Diggs and guard Zack Martin have been ruled out for the game, the Cowboys announced Saturday, per Mike Garafolo. They will not be traveling with the team.
In addition, the Cowboys made several other roster moves on Saturday. Safety Markquese Bell was placed on reserved/injured. Meanwhile, defensive end KJ Henry was waived.
The Cowboys also activated tackle Chuma Edoga and defensive end Marshawn Kneeland from reserved/injured-designated. They are both expected to play against the Commanders.
Cowboys tight end Princeton Fant and cornerback Kemon Hall were elevated from the practice squad. Finally, Brandin Cooks was ruled out for the game and he will not be activated from injured reserve.

As for positive injury news for the Cowboys, Dallas is expected to have star receiver CeeDee Lamb available against the Commanders. He has been dealing with a back and foot injury this week. However, he is expected to be good to go when the Cowboys face the Washington Commanders on Sunday, according to ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler.
Fowler provided an update on Lamb and other Cowboys players Saturday morning on SportsCenter.
“Then you’ve got CeeDee Lamb. He had a bit of a back and foot issue this week, coming off of the Monday night game with Houston,” Fowler said. “Missed some practice time. But he was a full participant Friday. He is off the injury report.”
Lamb leads the Cowboys with 67 catches for 774 yards and four touchdowns on the season.
In addition to Lamb, the Cowboys appear set to get back a few other key pieces this weekend. Dallas is 3-7 on the year and has dropped five straight games. However, perhaps the Cowboys can get healthy, get a win streak going and potentially finish the season on a high note.
One of those pieces is cornerback DaRon Bland, who is set to make his season debut against Washington.
