A brawl broke out between the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-9) and Houston Texans (7-5) after linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair hit Trevor Lawrence late as the quarterback was sliding to the ground.

Al-Shaair made hard contact with Lawrence’s head and neck area as he was in the process of giving himself up. As Lawrence laid on the ground, tight end Evan Engram stormed in and pushed Al-Shaair to the ground, sparking the on-field scrum.

Lawrence, who rose to his feet after being checked out by medical personnel, was carted off the field. The Jaguars have ruled him out for the remainder of the game with a concussion. Al-Shaair, meanwhile, was ejected from the game and had to be escorted through the tunnel back to the locker room by Texans personnel and security after nearly getting into a scuffle with Jaguars guard Brandon Scherff. Officials also ejected Jaguars cornerback Jarrian Jones.

Mac Jones replaces injured Trevor Lawrence at QB for Jaguars

Mac Jones is back under center for the Jaguars, as he was in the previous two games. Lawrence made his return to the lineup Sunday, previously sidelined with a sprained left shoulder.

In their two games without Lawrence, the Jaguars managed just a combined 313 yards and scored 13 combined points in losses to the Minnesota Vikings (9-2) and Detroit Lions (11-1).
