Trevor Lawrence denies trade rumors involving Pittsburgh Steelers

Trevor Lawrence denied any rumors of a potential trade between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Pittsburgh Steelers, sending the former No. 1 overall pick to the AFC North.
The Steelers have a bit of a quarterback conundrum with both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields hitting free agency. It seems like they’ll bring one of them back or draft a quarterback.
But why not take a swing at Lawrence? In any event, that doesn’t seem to be happening.
“That’s funny, I didn’t really see anything,” Lawrence said on Up and Adams. “My agent texted me and … said, ‘Hey, this is a report that’s out there. I don’t think there’s anything to it, but I’ll check into it.’ So I saw it, and it’s funny, though, when he sent it to me, I was like, I wouldn’t say, your heart drops, but you’re kind of like … I have a no-trade clause in my contract, so I would know about it if I was getting traded, or if that was something that was gonna happen, you know?
“I’d have to be on board with it. So which I’m not, I’m happy here in Jacksonville. I plan on, you know, we want to win a Super Bowl here, and, you know, I think we can do that and I don’t want to leave Jacksonville.”
Lawrence was curious as to where that report or rumor came from and they even went straight to the insider source.

“I think my agent reached out to Adam Schefter and was just like, hey, hear anything about this, because we don’t have GM,” Lawrence said. “Liam (Coen) texted me actually, I guess the day after it came out, and Liam said, ‘I shouldn’t even have to say this, but that’s not coming from us.’ I was like, Yeah, I figured, so we’re all we’re all good.”
Lawrence respects the Steelers and head coach Mike Tomlin, but he doesn’t seem himself anywhere else but Jacksonville for the foreseeable future.
“I like Coach Tomlin. He’s a good guy. But no, I’m set here,” Lawrence said. “Like I said, we love Jacksonville. This is home for us and there’s a lot more on the football side that, you know, we’ve yet to accomplish here and I’m excited about what we’re building. The future is very bright, and I want to be the guy here.”
