Trevor Lawrence is about to be a new father very soon. The Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback and his wife Marissa went to social media to announce they are expecting their first child.

“A little Lawrence on the way,” Marissa wrote in the social media post. The couple shared a series of photos on Instagram that shows Lawrence and Marissa with her baby bump while holding the ultrasound photos.

Lawrence and Marissa got married on April 10, 2021. The couple began dating in 2016 while attending Cartersville High School in Cartersville, Georgia. Following Lawrence’s rookie season in the NFL, Marissa sent him an emotional message on social media.

“What a year babe!! Lots of highs and lows,” she wrote. “A lot of learning. A lot of growing. A lot of adversity and newness. But there was also a lottt of good … good friendships … good memories. Goodness in the growth you’ve seen, the leadership you’ve learned deeper, and the [adversity] you’ve faced that made you stronger. You are and always will be the most amazing person I know. The way you handle things and do it with so much grace and love will always inspire me.”

Trevor Lawrence signs a huge contract with Jacksonville Jaguars

Lawrence’s major family announcement comes nearly two weeks after signing a five-year, $275 million contract. This means that Lawrence, who led the Clemson Tigers to a national championship in 2018, will be with the Jaguars through the 2030 season.

“It feels good to really be backed by the organization, by Mr. Khan (Jaguars Owner Shad Khan), [general manager] Trent [Baalke] and everyone involved in making these decisions of, ‘Who do you sign long term? Who you keep around?'” Lawrence said. “I’m just grateful for them that they see that in me and they want me to be the quarterback here. That’s what I want, but it takes two to tango. I’m grateful that they see the value in me, and I really feel confident in what we can accomplish here.”

Lawrence then talked about not having added pressure to perform after signing the big contract. “Playing quarterback in this league is pressure anyway,” he said. “I guess on the outside, there’s going to be a bigger expectation with the long-term deal and being the franchise quarterback and having the contract. That might change how other people look at it. But for me, I think I’ve carried that responsibility anyway. Being a starting quarterback in this league is a big responsibility. The team goes as you go. I know that.”
