Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence enters the offseason as a new father. On Monday, he and his wife, Marissa Lawrence, announced the birth of their daughter, Shae Lynn Lawrence. The couple said their daughter was born on Saturday at 4:01 a.m.

“Mommy and daddy love you so much!!!” Trevor and Marissa wrote in an Instagram post. “Thank you Jesus for our girl!!

Marissa and Trevor announced they were expecting their first child in June. The birth of their daughter comes nearly four years after the couple tied the knot. After Trevor’s rookie season in the NFL, Marissa went to social media to send him an emotional message.

“What a year babe!! Lots of highs and lows,” she wrote. “A lot of learning. A lot of growing. A lot of adversity and newness. But there was also a lottt of good … good friendships … good memories. Goodness in the growth you’ve seen, the leadership you’ve learned deeper, and the [adversity] you’ve faced that made you stronger. You are and always will be the most amazing person I know. The way you handle things and do it with so much grace and love will always inspire me.”

The birth of Shae Lynn comes after a challenging 2024 season for Trevor Lawrence. The former Clemson Tigers star played in just 10 games because of multiple injuries. On Dec. 4, Lawrence was placed on injured reserve due to a concussion he had after a hit from Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair. In the 10 games, Lawrence completed 60.6 of his passes for 2,045 yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions with an 85.2 passer rating.

Before the start of the 2024 season, Lawrence signed a five-year, $275 million contract extension. “It feels good to really be backed by the organization, by Mr. Khan (Jaguars Owner Shad Khan), [general manager] Trent [Baalke] and everyone involved in making these decisions of, ‘Who do you sign long term? Who you keep around?’” Lawrence said. “I’m just grateful for them that they see that in me and they want me to be the quarterback here. That’s what I want, but it takes two to tango. I’m grateful that they see the value in me, and I really feel confident in what we can accomplish here.”
