Treylon Burks explains how boar hunting experiences carry over to football field

Is boar hunting the secret to success for Treylon Burks? According to the former Arkansas star wide receiver, his experiences hunting some wild boars have carried over to some positivity on the football field.

“Yeah, big time,” Burks responded, when asked if boar hunting has made football a little easier. “A lot of people are not going to go out there and chase a wild boar. They can hurt you, but at the same time that’s part of my game on the field. Just being fearless. Selling out for the team.”

Of course, the Tennessee Titans may have some worries with Burks hunting a dangerous wild animal. Luckily, Burks — who the Titans drafted in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft — explained he hasn’t had any real close calls.

“I wouldn’t say it really has gotten pretty dangerous, for me,” stated Burks. “I would just say, we’ve had one just break loose, and we all jumped on trees just to get away from it.”

Every player has activities they enjoy off the field. However, the Titans may be hoping Treylon Burks takes up video games or becomes a cinema connoisseur as he begins his NFL career.

Treylon Burks burst onto the scene for Arkansas over the last two years. Now, he’s a first-round draft pick. The Tennessee Titans drafted Burks No. 18 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft last Thursday after trading away star wide receiver AJ Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles. The former Razorbacks star had a huge 2022 season to hear his name called in the first round.

Burks had 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns for Arkansas in 2021. He was virtually a consensus pick to be selected on Thursday. Burks earned first team All-SEC honors for his efforts just one year after being named second-team All-SEC. He was a big part of the Arkansas offense, but now it’s time for him to do the same thing in the NFL.

Out of high school, Burks was a four-star recruit and the No. 1 recruit in the state of Arkansas from the Class of 2019, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
