Tricon Garage finalizes 2025 roster, announces four drivers for No. 1 truck
The 2025 NASCAR season has been rounded out for Tricon Garage. In the No. 1 truck, they have four talented racers. Brandon Jones, William Sawalich, Brent Crews, and Lawless Alan will all split the all-star truck for this season.
This is a really interesting group of racers. Jones is back in the Joe Gibbs/Toyota camp after spending a year at JR Motorsports and Chevy. Sawalich is going full-time in Xfinity but will have five starts in the No. 1 truck.
Crews is fresh off an outstanding weekend at the Tulsa Shootout. He is possibly the most well-rounded 16-year-old racer in North America. He won’t turn 17 until March and won’t be eligible for a full-time season until 2026 at the earliest.
Then there is Lawless Alan. A very interesting prospect, he was developing with Reaume Brothers Racing last season. Now he has a full-time ARCA ride at Venturini and appears to be one of Toyota’s new young racers.
Crews will have the most starts in the Tricon Garage truck of the four drivers. He will pilot the truck nine times. However, he won’t be able to race on any oval tracks larger than 1.25 miles in length since he is under 18 years old.
While this is a group of talented drivers, Crews sticks out the most here. At 16 years old, Crews already has wins in ARCA, the CARS Tour Late Model Stock division, World Series of Asphalt title, and he is the youngest winner and champion ever in the Trans-AM TA2 Series.
That doesn’t even begin to scratch his accomplishments in karts and on dirt. The kid is full of talent and Toyota knows they have a future champion in their camp right now. They are going to do everything to keep him in the TRD pipeline.

William Sawalich or Brent Crews for Tricon Garage/Toyota top prospect
Along with Brent Crews we will see another teenage star in the No. 1 truck. William Sawalich is going to race full-time for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2025 in the Xfinity Series. However, his development as a driver is ongoing.
Sawalich is a two-time ARCA East champion. He has shown that he is not only a driver with a ton of funding but a driver with a ton of talent. A couple of years older than Crews, Sawalich is getting a jumpstart on the younger development driver. For now.
Toyota has a spoil of riches. The TRD program is more aggressive and wide-ranging than what Chevy and Ford have. But will that mean tough decisions down the road? Sawalich is great, but with a driver like Brent Crews coming up through the ranks and only a few Toyota Cup Series rides out there – can both Sawalich and Crews continue the path to the top without leaving for another manufacturer?
I’m getting ahead of myself, of course. But it is something to keep in mind. Toyota has more than enough drivers for the future, but there won’t always be a seat for each of them as they develop and move up in NASCAR. For now, Sawalich and Crews make up half of an all-star roster for the No. 1 truck. Who will be more successful in this truck for 2025?
