Uh, oh. Troy Aikman is going to have to answer to the Swifties after tonight.
During the final moments of the first half of Monday Night Football’s matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and New Orleans Saints, commentator and NFL Hall of Famer Troy Aikman made a crucial mistake when addressing Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce‘s girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
“The Mrs. likes it,” Aikman said after a Kelce catch in the first half.
Did we miss something? The Swifties are begging to know.
“You know they’re not married?” his broadcast partner Joe Buck said.
Aikman knows he messed that one up.
“Oh, I know,” Aikman responded. I’m sure I’m in trouble for saying that.”
Buck said it happens, and that even his own daughters have warned him to tread carefully when it comes to jokes about Taylor Swift.
The camera on the Monday Night Football broadcast panned out to show that Swift’s suite was directly under their broadcast booth. Swift was unaware of the comments Aikman made at the time.
She is attending her third Chiefs game of the season, as the 34-year-old music icon attended the first two home games of the year but missed the Chiefs’ two road games. However, Swift has been able to attend all of her boyfriend’s home games so far this season.

Of course, Kansas City is undefeated in those matchups and stands at 4-0 heading into Week 5’s Monday Night Football matchup. Looking to make history and win their third-straight Super Bowl, the Chiefs are well on their way to yet another AFC West title and bid to the championship game.
For Swift, she’s hard at work as well. She has some free time before she travels to multiple cities for her Eras Tour. She will be in Miami on Oct. 18 and will then hit New Orleans, Indianapolis, and Canada before wrapping the tour in Vancouver on Dec. 8.
