Tua Tagovailoa injury update: Dolphins QB addresses concussion symptoms, possibility he wears guardian cap
Tua Tagovailoa said he’s been symptom free since the day after he suffered a concussion earlier this season and wants to keep playing.
He’s been designated to return from injured reserve but there won’t be any changes for the quarterback. Tagovailoa said he won’t wear the new NFL issued guardian caps on top of his helmet.
He was adamant about his current condition and desire to get back on the field.
“I would say for myself I’ve been symptom free from the next day after the game (and on),” Tagovailoa said.
As far as the noise about him retiring and others pleading for Tagovailoa to retire, the former Alabama QB brushed it off.

“I wasn’t paying attention to any of it,” Tagovailoa said.
As far as why he won’t wear a guardian cap, Tagovailoa said it was a “person choice.”
“Just gotta be smart,” he said. “That’s it. Gotta be smart. My entire time playing football, I’ve been a competitor and that was my edge when I would run in high school and college. This is the professional level, the best of the best, you just can’t be doing that. Definitely gotta stay more available for the team, the organization and for our guys.”
The Dolphins will welcome Tagovailoa back onto the field with open arms. The team is 1-3 since Tagovailoa’s injury, with their only win coming against the New England Patriots.
Most recently, the Dolphins fell 16-10 to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. In the loss, Dolphins quarterback Tyler Huntley only completed 7-of-his-13 pass attempts for 87 yards and a touchdown.
