Ty Gibbs rams Justin Haley in retaliation, goes airborne at Bowman Gray Stadium
We are getting wild at the Madhouse! Ty Gibbs was spun out by Justin Haley. Before exiting the track, Gibbs would get his revenge. This is the second time that Haley has gotten on the wrong side of another driver this NASCAR weekend.
Ty Gibbs is a fiery competitor behind the wheel. He is not afraid to deliver the bumper when he has to. Tonight, while he was leaving the track, he decided to get one more hit on Haley.
The Last Chance Qualifier is only a 75-lap race. We have been going at it for over an hour now. Thanks to Haley, Gibbs is out of the race and contention for the main event. Well, thanks to Gibbs, the same is true for Haley in a damaged car.
Check out the retaliation and the air that Gibbs got on this hit.
It looked like Ty Gibbs would advance to the main event tonight. But he wasn’t able to. There were too many incidents on the track for Gibbs. Once he was knocked out of the front of the field, he began to struggle.
Not to mention, the middle of the pack was a danger zone. Just an absolute fistfight. Gibbs got into it with Haley, got repairs, and then returned to the track. Gibbs spun out again to end the Last Chance Qualifier. He was P14 in the race. Haley finished P9.
It looked like a great run for Ty Gibbs. But that’s why you run every lap. The Madhouse brings out the best and worst in drivers. Let’s hope we see more of the latter tonight.

Ty Gibbs and Justin Haley are going to be racing each other plenty this season. It looks like the year is off to a rough start as far as their relationship goes.
After failing to transfer out of the LCQ, Gibbs spoke to the media. He meant to hit Haley, but he wasn’t trying to ramp his car into the air.
“I don’t know, I just had a little left front damage and gave him a little tap, but didn’t mean to make it that big,” Gibbs said, via Jeff Gluck of The Athletic.
When asked about the hit from another reporter, Gibbs was honest. None of the hits feel good in this car.
“Stiff, but they’re all pretty stiff in this thing, so.”
