This feels familiar, Ty Gibbs is on the pole for the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Nashville Superspeedway, beating out Cole Custer. It is going to be a hot one today in Music City.

There are five Cup Series drivers in the race tonight. Ty Gibbs, Noah Gragson, Ross Chastain, John Hunter Nemechek, and Tyler Reddick are mixing it up with the second-tier series. A bit of double-duty action for the hottest weekend of the year.

Heading into the race this afternoon, Gibbs is one to watch. Don’t sleep on any of the series regulars, either.

This is the second time this season and the ninth time in his career that Ty Gibbs has won the Xfinity Series pole award. Gibbs has finishes of P24at COTA, P9 and a pole award at Charlotte, and a DNF P35 from Sonoma. Still searching for that win this season in Xfinity, and Cup, for that matter.

This race is going to be intense. For Gibbs, Nashville Superspeedway has been up and down. Last season, he was a DNF at Nashville. The year before that, during his Xfinity Series championship year, Gibbs was P4 at Nashville.

Gibbs has a knack for the Xfinity Series. He was part-time in 2021 while on his way to the ARCA championship and picked up four wins. When he is in one of these races, it makes it that much more interesting.

Add in the other Cup Series talent and we are about to see a fantastic race.

Ty Gibbs, others running double duty at Nashville

Despite the weather being oppressively hot, there are a few drivers racing double duty. As I mentioned above, Ty Gibbs, Noah Gragson, John Hunter Nemechek, Ross Chastain, and Tyler Reddick are all entered in this race.

That puts a lot of pressure on drivers like Cole Custer, Riley Herbst, Chandler Smith, and the other talented regulars in this series. So far this Xfinity Series season has produced drama and more than a few great races.

Custer has yet to win a race, but he leads the points standings. Meanwhile, drivers like Chandler Smith, Austin Hill, Sam Mayer, and Shane van Gisbergen have each won a couple of races a piece.

Ty Gibbs will lead the field to green later this afternoon. He has all of the skills and tools he needs in order to win. Will he be able to get it done under the hot Tennessee sun?
