Ty Majeski dominates Phoenix race, wins NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship

When Ty Majeski made the Championship 4, it was clear he would be a dangerous driver. He is a short track ace. He loves racing his late models and short tracks around the country.
On a Friday night in Phoenix, Majeski joins the ranks of the best to do it in the Truck Series. He is a NASCAR champion!
132 of 150 laps led by Ty Majeski tonight. That is the most dominant Truck Series championship race performance of the playoff era. Majeski works on cars, he was working in the shop at ThorSport before he was given a shot behind the wheel.

All of Wisconsin is going to be celebrating tonight as Ty Majeski brings home a championship. He was just back home in the state to vote, which he was fined $12,500 for missing a media obligation. Maybe NASCAR can overlook that in light of this championship?
Majeski as a Wisconsin driver, joins Johnny Sauter and Travis Kvapil as Truck Series champions from the state. He performed a Polish Victory Lap, made famous by Alan Kulwicki, also from Wisconsin.

Ty Majeski wins Truck Series championship
It took him 15 races to get a checkered flag, but Ty Majeski closed out the season with three wins in nine races. He also had three pole awards and two runner-up finishes in that time period. That’s how you win a championship.
Majeski is a driver that has a ton of respect form his peers. He is a racer’s racer. While he has talent, he has not always had an easy time finding opportunities to race. ThorSport Racing has given him a new lease on his career, though.
Layne Riggs is Rookie of the Year. He earned two wins this season late. He actually won the first two playoff races. Riggs was a threat to Majeski for a little bit but was spun out late in the race.
Ty Majeski is a great champion for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. This series is more focused on short track, the real lifeblood of stock car racing. Majeski comes from that background. A great race, dominated by Majeski, and a new champion for the series.
