After filing an appeal against his $12,500 fine, Ty Majeski has won out. NASCAR fined Majeski for missing Championship 4 production day. Majeski is set to race for a championship on Friday night.

Ty Majeski did not attend the production day for the Championship 4 drivers at the end of the season. Instead, Majeski was at home in Wisconsin to vote in person.

The ThorSport driver was hit with the fine despite his excuse. Missing out on a media obligation is a big no-no, but Majeski felt he had a good excuse. Since being fined, Majeski has won the Truck Series championship, the Bill Bigley Memorial, and finished P3 in the Snowball Derby.

He has more than made up for that $12,500. But that is still a hefty fine.

NASCAR released the results of the appeal this afternoon: “Driver failed to meet contractual agreement with NASCAR. One of the most, if not most, important media obligation of the entire season,” the panel said of the incident.

By missing the production day for the NASCAR Championship 4, Ty Majeski put his team and officials in a tough position. NASCAR was never informed that he would be going back to Wisconsin to vote in person.

Had Majeski and ThorSport told NASCAR, this might have been avoided. However, there wasn’t proper communication and therefore the fine was handed down. Good thing the Bill Bigley Memorial paid out $30,000 to win.

Ty Majeski falls short of third Snowball Derby win

To cap off his 2024, Ty Majeski went to Pensacola, Florida to race the Snowball Derby. He went on to earn the pole for the biggest Super Late Model race of the year. But things would not end with Majeski’s 91 car upfront.

On a late restart, Kaden Honeycutt was too much for Majeski to hold off. These two Truck Series drivers were giving it all they had. By the time the checkered flag came out, Majeski slipped to P3, behind Stephen Nasse as well.

Honeycutt went on to join Majeski as a Snowball Derby champion. Ending his season with a strong P3 finish isn’t too bad after all that he has accomplished since the end of 2023.

Ty Majeski is going to have to pay up that money he owes NASCAR. Next year if he plans on going home to vote, I’m sure that he and his team will inform NASCAR. This time around, he’s $12,500 lighter in the pocket.
