For the fifth time this season, Ty Majeski wins the pole award for the NASCAR Truck Series. He leads the series in poles this year. With two wins to close out the regular season, Majeski is a threat to win the championship this year.

While he is usually the short track master, there are times when Ty Majeski flexes his muscles on the big tracks. This is the second pole in three races, with Majeski winning the award at Milwaukee.

With Majeski leading the field to green tonight, he has a chance to win his third race in the last five starts. That would be major for his championship hopes.

Ty Majeski enters the race tonight fourth overall in the Truck Series Playoffs. He only needs to pick up one point in the first stage, hope Grant Enfinger doesn’t win the stage, or if another truck DNFs in Stage 1, he will advance to the next round.

Christian Eckes, Corey Heim, Nick Sanchez – they are all safe. Fifth to eighth could all find themselves eliminated and below the cutline if they aren’t careful. Daniel Dye and Ben Rhodes are the two trucks out of the playoff picture ahead of tonight’s race.

Connor Mosack is going to try and be the spoiler tonight. He and Dawson Sutton are the first two drivers not in the playoffs in the starting lineup. Here is the rest of the starting lineup from Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports.

Layne Riggs, winner of two straight in the postseason as a spoiler, starts P13 tonight. He could find his way to the front by the time the night is all said and done. Although he didn’t have a great outing last time at Kansas. It was a solid P18 performance. Will he improve on that tonight?

Ty Majeski has been hot

While Riggs has owned the last two races, Ty Majeski has been on a hot streak. Two wins, a runner-up and P8 in the last four races. Now he has his second pole award in as many races as well. The speed is there for the No. 98 team.

Majeski made the Championship 4 in 2022. He came up short in 2023. Right now, he looks more like the driver from 2022 than last year. That is a good thing for him and bad news for his competition.

In his Truck Series career, Majeski has a career-best finish of P2 at Kansas. Earlier this year, he finished P33 in a DNF effort. For the most part, he has mixed results at this track and it depends on which side of the coin he flips tonight.

When Ty Majeski wins the pole, he usually puts up a solid effort. I expect him to be in the mix tonight, but I don’t think we are going to see him win. Honestly, it feels like Christian Eckes is going to come away with the win tonight.
